Discover History



With 186 acres of beautiful greenery & wildlife, Alexandra Park is a wonderful way to spend the day with loved ones. 'Ally Pally' was built in 1863; once a Palace in 1873, perfectly placed to enjoy fantastic panoramic views of London.



For now the palace is undergoing an exciting restoration project, giving this beloved location, the tender care it needs. The Park is encapsulated by vast amounts of greenery, even including a deer enclosure! The Palace is home to many events throughout the year, known to have everything from ice skating, food festivals/expos and music festivals, there is always something to keep an eye out for.



The great thing is, there is something for everyone here, no need to go inside when you can have a lovely picnic with the family, or take a romantic stroll through the picturesque park, making sure to get that perfect photo, for your memories, or for Instagram!



History is everywhere, don't forget about Bruce Castle.


Yep, you read that right, our very own castle in the area. Once known as the Lordship House, Bruce Castle was constructed in the 16th Century. It is a Grade I listed building, lovingly preserved, an excellent example of a Tudor Period manor home. Inside, there is a museum that is dedicated to the history of the Borough of Haringey, offering visitors an excellent opportunity to learn more about the area in addition to the house itself.


Get Artsy! Or Make Your Way Down To The Kings Head


If you’re tired of the usual Hollywood popcorn blockbuster, head down to the Arthouse cinema in Crouch End. This independent cinema has two screens, but does more than just show movies. It is also a cultural hub showcasing art, live music, theatre, dance and comedy.


They are currently, supporting live theatre streams for anyone interested in a homely night at the theatre.

If you have been developing a screen-play, don't forget to take part in Haringey's Film Festival, where wonderful minds can submit their creations, ultimately celebrating the creativity, diversity, & culture of Haringey.




Talking of comedy, since opening its doors in 1981, “Downstairs at the King’s Head” has become a legendary comedy night out sneakily tucked away beneath the King’s Head pub in Crouch Hill Road. An Array of comedy and live music, this casual event has showcased many breakthrough acts in comedy and live music. It is said that a plethora of top comics have passed through their doors on their way up and are privileged to find that most continue to perform with their long after they have become `too famous’.

Marcus Garvey Centre


Named after the famous Jamaican political leader, the Marcus Garvey Centre in Tottenham features a dedicated Afro Caribbean and Marcus Garvey section, where you can learn about the man and relax in a bright modern library. Grab a book, pull up a chair and get comfortable in a modern library environment.

If your inner foody is crying out as loud as ours, you are going to want to check out the Tottenham Green market. Especially if your Sundays are looking empty, take a trip down to this legendary market where you can taste an eclectic range of foods as well as local craft work on display, all made with local hands.


There are also enough activities to stop the kids getting bored. This market began as a pop-up for new and local business', to what is now an explosion of beautiful food and crafts, changing every weak, you'll always find something new to try. If you're a fan of street food, you will want to hit up Tottenham Green Market.
